Maple has a number of algorithms for algebraic curves. Algebraic algorithms such as genus, holomorphic differentials, integral basis, parametrization, normal forms for (hyper)-elliptic curves, as well as numeric algorithms such as monodromy and periodmatrix. How these algorithms work is the topic of this talk. Possible future improvements will be discussed as well.
