Image stitching (creating panoramic photo mosaics) is a microcosm of computer vision. Producing high-quality composite images requires solidly understanding and solving many fundamental vision operations and problems. These include parametric image warping, feature-based alignment, seam selection, and seamless blending. In this talk, I give short tutorials on each of these sub-topics and also some open problems in this area.
