Vishwesha Guttal of the Indian Institute of Science presents "Stochasticity and collective escape responses in moving animal groups" at IPAM's Modeling Multi-Scale Collective Intelligences Workshop. Abstract: I will present two broad themes of ongoing work in our lab. First is the role of stochasticity in shaping collective motion and its evolution, where I will present theory and data analysis of various animal groups. Second, I will present some ongoing work on the general features of collective escape response in animal groups, involving theory and data.
