Abstract
We survey our progress in understanding of privacy in statistical databases over the last 10 years, starting with early negative results followed by emergence of the concept of differential privacy and its many variants. We conclude with recent applications of differential privacy such as its use by the Chrome browser and differentially private deep learning.
