Abstract
I propose that publishers of Mathematics should be given the possibility to adopt a precise "sustainable publishing charter" with commitments concerning the choices of individual titles instead of publishers' bundlings, the rebates for subscriptions to several titles, negotiations of prices and their increases, free cancellation, archiving quality paper copies, etc. The purpose is to provide an explicit scientific and economic alternative, with the guarantee of perennity which is necessary for mathematicians, to the unsustainable business models of some publishers, so that authors, editors, referees, librarians and publishers are offered a clear choice. Many academic publishers already implicitely respect such a charter. sustainable publishing charter
