There has been a lot of progress on the structure and properties of finite free resolutions. Much less is known about the properties of infinite free resolutions. Such resolutions occur abundantly over quotient rings. Usually their structure is very intricate. We will discuss three classes of rings over which infinite free resolutions are nicely structured: Complete Intersections, Koszul Rings, and Golod Rings.
