Abstract
D-modules are central objects in many areas of modern math, including noncommutative geometry, representation theory, algebraic analysis, singularity theory and Hodge theory. We will introduce the basic definitions and discuss some of the varied perspectives on D-modules, in particular the celebrated Beilinson-Bernstein localization theory for representations.
