In joint work with Chloe Marple, we found an unexpected homomorphism between the Kauffman bracket skein algebra for the closed torus and the Roger-Yang skein algebra for the twice-punctured annulus.   In this talk, we’ll discuss some applications of the homomorphism and compare it with the few known examples of homomorphisms between skein algebras.
