We will construct an action of sl(2) on gl(p) Khovanov--Rozansky homology in characteristic p. We will obtain several topological applications such as a new obstruction to a knot being slice. This work is joint with You Qi, Louis-Hadrien Robert, and Emmanuel Wagner.
