April 30, 2025
Abstract
Recorded 30 April 2025. Francois Golse of the École Polytechnique presents "Wasserstein Distance and the Observability Problem in Quantum Mechanics" at IPAM's Dynamics of Density Operators Workshop.
Abstract: The purpose of this talk is to present an approach to the observability problem for the Schrödinger or the quantum Liouville (i.e. von Neumann) equation that is based on a propagation estimate for a quantum analogue of the Wasserstein
distance of order two. (Work in collaboration with Thierry Paul)
