Abstract
There has been tremendous progress in recent years toward tackling the seemingly unapproachable problem of self-consistent predictions of astrophysical observables from models including neutrino quantum kinetics. I will review some of this progress, touching on novel analytical and computational techniques. I will specifically focus on the potential of moment kinetics methods, which parallel moment methods in classical transport and promise to allow simulation of much larger models, but carry the weight of uncertainties induced by an imposed closure relation.
