Recorded 27 November 2023. Marius Junge of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign presents "Let’s talk about noise" at IPAM's Topology, Quantum Error Correction and Quantum Gravity Workshop. Abstract: Error correction is needed because of the noisy nature of quantum computers. I will talk about different noise models usually described by channels. This will include a brief introduction to Lindbladians which can be used for single bit noise models and collaborative noise. Joint work with Y.
