Abstract
Recorded 24 October 2022. Anna Gilbert of Yale University presents "Imaging from the Inside Out - Inverse Scattering in Fluorescence Microscopy" at IPAM's Mathematical Advances for Multi-Dimensional Microscopy Workshop.
Abstract: We propose a method to reconstruct the optical properties of a scattering medium with subwavelength resolution. The method is based on the solution to the inverse scattering problem with photoactivated internal sources used in fluorescence microscopy. Numerical simulations of threedimensional structures demonstrate that a resolution of approximately ?/25 is achievable. Relation to the source localization problem in fluorescence microscopy will be discussed.
