Abstract
Casey Reas

Gathering source material from newspapers, social media profiles, broadcast television and YouTube searches, Reas' recent artwork manifests his personal confrontations with media and media as data. Works to be discussed include Linear Perspective (2015), a generative collage that sources the primary front-page photographs from the New York Times for an entire year, the All Your Face Are Belong To Us series, hybrid portraits that compress the profiles photos of thousands of Reas’ Twitter followers, and KTTV (August 2015), audio and visual distortions of broadcast digital television.
