Abstract
Recent theoretical and experimental research has shown that by pumping a microresonator with a single-frequency laser it is possible to generate frequency combs that can span more than an octave of bandwidth. Such combs exhibit a wide variety of dynamical behavior including modelocking, cavity- and breather-soliton formation, and chaotic behavior. In addition, it is possible to link modelocking and soliton formation to Kuramoto-like synchronization.
