Intersection and self-intersection of surfaces by means of Bezoutian matrices

Abstract
The computation of the intersection and self-intersection loci of parameterized space algebraic surfaces is an important task in Computer Aided Geometric Design. In this talk, we will show that these loci can be represented by particular projections corresponding to certain resultants which can be exactly computed as the determinant of associated Bezoutian-like matrices. This is joint work with M. Elkadi and A. Galligo from the University of Nice.
