I will present a qualitative, model free theory for
imaging in clutter with coherent interferometry.
Coherent interferometry is a smoothed form of Kirchhoff
or travel time migration that is implemented adaptively
in order to optimize the bias-variance tradeoff in the
image quality, as it is being formed. I will show the
results of numerical simulations that illustrate the
theory. This is joint work with L. Borcea and C. Tsogka.
